Nominations
This form gives all current members the opportunity to be nominated for an Executive Officer board position for Southern California NCNW. Please review the requirements and submit your nomination by Sunday, April 7, 2024, 11:59 pm. All nominees must have paid their local and national dues to be
eligible to run. Below you will find the duties and responsibilities of each office, followed by the nomination form.

PRESIDENT
- Preside over SoCal Area meetings
- Appoint all standing committee chairs except the Nominating Committee
- Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees except the Audit, Nominating, and Election Committees
- Appoint all special committees
- Appoint all non-elected officers
- Serve as the spokesperson for the Section
- Be one of three officers authorized to sign checks
- Be bonded
- Present a report at each Area Meeting
- Serve as a member of the Executive Board
- Ensure that all policies, bylaws, and procedures are followed
- Preside at all meetings of the membership and the executive committee and be responsible for the agenda at such meetings
- Attend one of two National Headquarters Annual Meetings
1st Vice President
- Preside over meetings in the absence or at the request of the President
- Be responsible for the programs of the Section and programs initiated by the National Headquarters and determined to be necessary in the community
- Be one of three officers authorized to sign checks and serve as the second signature on checks payable to the President or Treasurer
- Serves as Chairperson of the Program Committee
- Program Chair will quarterly send Reports/Data by the 20th of the designated months to National
- Tracking the Data/Success of the Section Programs in the Community and/or the barriers in the Community.
- Present a report at each Area Meeting
- Be bonded
- Attend one of two National Headquarters Annual Meetings
2nd Vice President
- Oversee membership recruitment, retention, and reclamation activities
- Serves as Chairperson of the Membership Committee
- Present a report at each Area Meeting
- Work with the National membership office and the membership committee to ensure that new and renewal enrollment forms and payments are promptly transmitted
- Reconcile the quarterly Section membership roster and sends changes/revisions to the membership committee
- Notify NCNW national member services office of change of address, transfers and deaths
- Assume the responsibilities of the 1st Vice President in her absence
- Assume the responsibilities of the President at the section meeting only in the absence of both the President and 1st Vice President
- Attend one of two National Headquarters Annual Meetings
3rd Vice President
- Encourage, recruit, and focus on the participation of young women, who must be thirty-nine (39) years of age and under to join the Section
- Be between twenty-five (25) and thirty-nine (39) years of age
- Present a report at each Area Meeting
Treasurer
- Keep a record of bank statements and reconcile them monthly
- Deposit funds in the bank within 5 business days upon receipt from the Financial Secretary
- Only issue checks upon proper documentation and approval
- Be one of three officers authorized to sign checks
- Serve as Chairperson of the Finance Committee
- Prepare the Section’s books and records for internal and external audits
- Prepare the end of the fiscal year Internal Revenue Service's Annual Section Report
- Safeguard and manage the Section's financial assets
- Be bonded
Financial Secretary
- Receive and maintain a record of all monies and dues from the membership
- Issue receipts for all monies received
- Prepare and present a monthly report to the membership
- Turn monies over to the treasurer within 2 business days of receipt
- Serve as a member of the Finance Committee
- Prepare the Section’s books and records for internal and external audits
- Assist in preparing the end of the fiscal year Internal Revenue Service's Annual Section Report
- Be bonded
Recording Secretary
- Record the minutes of all meetings
- Keep all official records, committee reports, and other required documents on file
- Assist the President with preparing the agenda
- In the absence of the President, First Vice President, or Parliamentarian, the Recording Secretary will call the meeting to order and preside over the meeting until the immediate election of a chair pro tem
Corresponding Secretary
- Send the membership the required notice of regular, annual, and call/special meetings
- Maintain a file for all incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Collect mail from the P. O. Box
- Prepare or send written correspondence as directed by the President
